Rick Newton’s sci-fi scenarios depict future narratives based on Florida landscapes and tourist landmarks. His meticulously rendered paintings imagine surreal, post-apocalyptic scenes based on a repurposed past and devoid of former meanings.

Newton (b. West Palm Beach, FL) grew up in Juno Beach, FL and currently lives and works in West Palm Beach. Newton received a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art (Boston). He has exhibited at the Margulies Collection (Miami), Paul Fisher Gallery (West Palm Beach), J Cacciola Gallery (NYC), among others. His solo exhibition, Future Histories, will open at Design Sublime (Miami) November 2016.
